Monday, 6th July 2020: Pray for your Pastors!

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 50:6My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
Reflections: Israel backslides completely. In trouble shooting why this happened, God likens the scenario to a sheep- shepherd relationship setting where the shepherd fails to tend and protect the sheep properly leading to their wandering into enemy environment where they are plundered. Within context of this scenario, the sheep refers to the people of Israel while the shepherd points to their priests or pastors. Thus Israel‘s backslidden life occurred as a result of the functional failure of their priests/pastors. As long as your pastor’s focus gets attracted to the cares of this world and they fail to get you established in righteousness, the chances are high to see you wander away from the truth, leading you to backslide in the process. The success of your christian life is therefore largely contingent upon the strict adherence of your pastor to the standards of the word of God and how they translate this in their ministry towards you.
Pray for your pastors and support them in their work!
Prayer: Dear Lord, let my pastors focus on you and remain committed to the study of the word and prayer.
Confession: I pray for my pastors and support them. They remain solid in word and prayer and translate this in their ministry towards me.
