Scripture Reading: Luke 5:6-7
And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
Reflection: Each time he cast his net into the sea, it failed to catch fish. There seemed to be no fish in the sea at all. Peter therefore gave up hope of ever catching any. After a while, Jesus came to the scene and implored him to cast his net again into the sea. This was going to be difficult for Peter to accept since all his previous efforts had failed to yield results. Nevertheless he decided to hold on to the words of Jesus. What took place was unimaginable. The harvest of fish was so much that his net could not even hold. It was even difficult for him to drag the net ashore so his friends had to come to his aid. Nothing rewards like holding on to the word of God. It reverses conditions! It will bring you into a season of harvest!
Prayer: Oh Lord, usher me into a season where I see my expectations fulfilled and ill conditions reversed.
Confession: The word of God remains the rule of my life. It is changing every negative condition in my life. It is bringing me to a place of glory.
