Scripture Reading: Heb 10:12 -13
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
Reflections: The author of Hebrews points out that Jesus Christ descended from heaven to the earth with the expectation of bringing an end to the annual atonement of sin through animal sacrifice, an objective he attained by giving his life on the cross. After that, he adds that Jesus returned to heaven with yet another expectation—that His enemies would one day be made his footstool. The need of having optimistic expectation for the future is thus emphasized by the author of Hebrews. An expectation is a hope or a belief about what might occur in the future. Once it is positive, It motivates you to put effort into getting it accomplished. Like the Lord Jesus Christ, be motivated by optimistic expectations and work towards achieving these!
Prayer: Help me to live with optimistic expectations and to work towards achieving them, Lord.
Confession: I am optimistic about my expectations.
