Monday, 5th June 2017: Don’t do away with Integrity in life!

Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 9:4-5
And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

Reflections: This was the second time the Lord was appearing to him. During the first encounter he was given surpassing wisdom (1Kings 3:5). This time around, Solomon was given a word of admonishment. Among others, he was told by God to walk in integrity just like his father David did. So wisdom was not it all. He needed to demonstrate integrity as well. Integrity was then a personal choice he could not avoid making if he really wanted to succeed in his life’s mission. Integrity ‘is the uncompromising commitment to honor moral and ethical values and principles in life’. It moves you to demonstrate honesty and fairness in your dealings with people. By integrity, you can’t help but do the right thing for the right reason all the time. Do you want to succeed in life and leave blueprints behind to affect your posterity? Then like Solomon, you cannot avoid making a personal commitment to integrity. Do it now! Integrity is a personal choice you should not avoid in life!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to adhere to moral and ethical principles and let me maintain the highest level of moral character and honesty in life.

Confession: I make a personal choice to be a person of integrity. I adhere to moral and ethical principles of life. I maintain the highest level of moral character and honesty in life.
