Monday, 5th December 2022: There is a reward for perseverance!

Scripture Reading: James 5:10
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure.

Reflections: James emphasizes that the ancient prophets encountered tribulation yet exhibited great patience, which enabled them to accomplish their purpose on earth. In Hebrew, the term ‘endure’ implies to “remain under.” It denotes someone who perseveres through suffering or adversity. Such a person continues to adhere to his or her convictions and maintains faith till the end. According to James, this individual is blessed. James’s submission conveys the concept that there is a reward for perseverance in life. You may not always have it easy, but like the ancient prophets, you must learn to persevere. You will undoubtedly receive the reward for your perseverance!

Prayer: Dear Lord I thank you for grace to hold on until breakthrough!

Confession: I don’t give up in life.
