Monday, 3rd June 2024: Stay progressive by accepting your faults!

Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 15:1-2
And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent. Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him forever.

Reflections: David attempted to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to its rightful place, but unfortunately, his efforts were met with failure. In a tragic turn of events, one of David’s men, Uzza, lost his life when he touched the Ark in an attempt to keep it from falling. Gripped with displeasure and fear, David left the Ark in the house of Obed-Edem. However, after 3 months, he was ready to go back for it. This time around, he had figured out right away what went wrong with his first move, accepted his fault, and was now ready to put in the necessary corrective measures. He decided not to transport the ark on a cart, nor would he allow ordinary people to do so. This was an absolute violation of divine instructions, which he had initially ignored, leading to the disaster that struck. According to the established divine order, only consecrated priests would carry it, and they would do so right on their shoulders. Like David, you must be prepared to recognise your mistakes and subsequently find motivation to implement the required corrective actions. This is the path to continuous progress in life.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to accept my flaws and find the motivation to fix them.

Confession: I accept my flaws and find the motivation to fix them.
