Scripture Reading: 1 Sam 18:2 & 5
And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house. And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
Reflections: Young David had finished delivering food supply to his brothers. His visit to the army camp had been monumental. He was all set to rush back home to continue taking care of his sheep when suddenly he receives an appointment from King Saul to become a special Security Advisor to the armed forces of Israel. David would no longer be allowed to go back home. From such an unrecognized lowly position of a poor shepherd boy, he had suddenly become relevant to his nation. This happened because he provided the solution to the security threat posed by the Philistines. He had faced and killed their army commander, Goliath!. For 40 days until he arrived, no one could provide this solution. Clearly only solution providers become relevant in life. They attain greater heights. Solution recipients don’t. As ‘salt and light’ of the earth, we are expected to be solution providers to our generation. May you not fail your generation!!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be a solution provider.
Confession: I am a solution provider in life.
