Scripture Reading: Gen 32:26-28
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and men, and hast prevailed.
Reflections: On his journey back home, Jacob had an encounter with an angel. He held onto the angel, insisting on receiving a blessing before letting go. The angel struggled to break free but eventually gave in to Jacob’s determination. This story teaches us three valuable lessons. First, we should be aware of opportunities. Second, we should take advantage of them. Finally, we should work hard and stay determined to make the most of them. Jacob didn’t just let the angel go; he saw it as a chance to change his life and used all his strength to make the most of this opportunity. Follow Jacob’s example and take advantage of opportunities to improve your life!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the opportunities that come my way.
Confession: I do not let go of opportunities
