Scripture Reading: Matt 9: 24
He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Reflections: Jesus followed the state official who wanted his daughter raised from the dead to his house. When they arrived, He was met by an unbelieving crowd who laughed at Him scornfully. They made Him understand that it was a waste of time raising a dead body. Rather than yield to their discouraging voices, Jesus did something unusual. He requested that they should all be driven away from his presence. Once He was left alone, Jesus raised the dead girl. He did so by just holding her hands up. In life, it is important to disassociate yourself from people who will discourage you from reaching your goals. They will rid you of your confidence, hope and faith. Until you get them out of your life, you may not make headway towards your expectation. Like Jesus, learn to keep discouragers out of your life! Just get them out!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me keep discouragers out of my life.
Confession: I keep distractors and discouraged out of my life.
