Scripture Reading: Galatians 2:2
And I went up by revelation and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
Reflections: Paul’s mission in Jerusalem at the time was to preach to persons of high standing. Even though the Holy Spirit inspired him to minister directly to this group of individuals, Paul, by wisdom, opted to carry out this mission in private. He observed that speaking to these individuals in public at that time would not produce the desired outcomes and would render his mission futile. Through Paul’s actions, we learn that wisdom plays a role in our pursuit of excellence. Wisdom is the ability of the mind to think and act in such a way that the choices and judgements one makes become beneficial and productive. Ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) and follow the Spirit’s guidance. Be a man/woman of Spirit and wisdom!
Prayer: Oh Lord, make me a man/woman of the Spirit and wisdom!
Confession: My life is based on the leadings of the Spirit and the application of wisdom!
