Monday, 2nd November 2020: Apply wisdom!

Scripture Reading: Galatians 2:2
And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain

Reflections: Paul arrives in Jerusalem. At this time, his mission was to preach to people of high repute. Even though he was led by the Spirit to minister specifically to this group of people, Paul by wisdom chose to execute this mission privately and not publicly. In other words he will not hold public meetings to preach but will minister to them on the quiet. He notes that preaching publicly to these people at that time will not yield the needed results and will render his mission fruitless. By the action of Paul, we learn that wisdom has a place in helping us succeed in the pursuit of excellence in life. This is why Solomon describes it as the principal thing in life (Prov 4:7). The lack of wisdom has led many spirit filled people to crush in life. Don’t let this happen to you. Remember, Jesus himself grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52) and exhibited a great sense of wisdom in his ministry endeavors. Ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) and get in applied in life’s circumstances.

Prayer: Oh Lord, make me a man/woman of the Spirit and wisdom!

Confession: My life is based on the leadings of the Spirit and the application of wisdom!
