Scripture Reading: Rom 8:29
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Reflection: Those who give their lives to Christ and profess His lordship are meant to conform to His image. The word ‘conform’ means ‘to fashion one’s self according to, or to form oneself to another’s pattern’. The ‘image of Christ” on the other hand refers to His character and manner of life. To conform to His image therefore means to consciously and actively allow your life to be patterned after that of Christ in character and way of living. This automatically speaks of change which you should not avoid. You see, as long as you claim to be a child of God, this change must visibly occur in your life. You must become like Christ in character and in deed. Keep changing until you get there! Remember Paul’s words “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory ( 2 Cor 3:18)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I desire to change in character from one glory to another. Help me to do so by your Spirit.
Confession: I yield to every process to be like Christ in character and in deed. Change is visibly occurring in my life every day. I am becoming like him.
