Scripture Reading: Exodus 3:21-22 (NKJV)
“And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”
Reflections: The Hebrew word chen, meaning “favor,” signifies a gracious kindness or mercy that prompts benevolence without obligation. Throughout the Old Testament, chen is seen as an unearned blessing that brings unexpected support and transformation in times of need. When God sent Moses to free Israel, He promised such favor that the Egyptians would willingly give wealth to the Israelites. This favor, part of God’s covenant, transformed Israel’s situation so they didn’t leave Egypt empty-handed. Today, God’s favor still softens hearts and opens doors, meeting needs through unexpected sources. Like Israel, divine favor will bring you abundance beyond survival.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask that Your favor would open doors and make a way for me today.
Confession: God’s favor surrounds me like a shield, and I walk in His divine provision.
