Scripture Reading:1Cor 16:8-9
But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
Reflections: As part of his planned itinerary, Paul will be making a stopover at Ephesus. He is excited to spend some time there because the area presented a significant opportunity for the gospel’s advancement. He was quick, however, to observe that there were many people against him in the city who were going to oppose his mission. Despite these, he was still willing to visit Ephesus and even stay on for a while. This meant that he was ready to endure opposition and to suffer any persecution that may arise just so that he could achieve his destined goals. Sometimes in accessing opportunities to progress in life, you will face opposition. However, like Paul, this should not deter you. You must fight on! If you are not ready to face opposition in life then you are not ready for greatness!
Prayer: Dear Lord, give me the courage to break through amid oppositions.
Confession: I am not deterred by oppositions in life. I forge ahead to accomplish my set goals.
