Scripture Reading: Gen 32:27-29
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
Reflections: Jacob was on his way back home, He had lived outside his homeland for 20 years. After crossing the river at Jabbok, he decided to spend some time alone with the Lord. Within those moments, he encountered the presence of an Angel. He physically held on to this Angel all night refusing to let him depart until he had been blessed. The Angel succumbed but before pronouncing the blessing, changed Jacob’s name to Israel. This is significant. Sometimes, something will have to change around you in order for a peculiar blessing of God to flow into your life. Ask God to help you go through any change process that is required to get you launched into greater blessings. Like Jacob you will surely be blessed!
Prayer: Oh God, change anything around me in the spirit and in the physical which does not allow me to walk in peculiar blessings.
Confession: I am blessed of God. By grace I meet the demands of any change process required for the activation of such divine blessings.
