Monday, 26th March 2018: You must be quick to outwit your enemies !

Scripture Reading: Luke 6: 9-10
Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, He said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And He did so: and His hand was restored whole as the other.

Reflection: The scribes and Pharisees watched to see whether Jesus would heal the man so that they will accuse Him of breaking the sabbath. Perceiving their thoughts, Jesus developed a strategy to deal with them. He asked them the simple question of whether it was lawful on the sabbath day to do good or to do evil, to save life, or to destroy it?. They could not answer him since the answer was obvious. As they kept looking at him, He commanded the man to stretch forth his withered hand. Instantly the man received his healing. The scribes and the Pharisees could not lay any charge against Him. He had completely outwitted them by the question He posed. To outwit is ‘to get an advantage over someone by acting more cleverly’. In life you must be quick to develop strategies to outwit your enemies and render their plans foolish. Depend on the Holy Spirit for the needed inspiration.

Prayer: Dear Lord, anoint me with the ability to outwit my enemies all the time.

Confession: My enemies will fail to execute their evil schemes against my life. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will outwit them all the time.
