Reflections: John was given access to information pertaining to the end of days. This testifies of the ever readiness of God to share deep things with His children so that they will not be overtaken by events. John hints of how he  ‘was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day and how this enabled him to have access to the divine mysteries. To be in the Spirit is then the key to hearing from God. The trumpet of information could have sounded alright in the Spirit on the Lord’s day but if John had failed to be equally in the Spirit, he would have missed it all. To be in the Spirit is to have your spirit or inner man yielded to the Holy Spirit and His promptings. It is time to begin or increase this spiritual discipline in your life. There are no two ways about this: You must be in the Spirit in order to hear from Him!
