Monday, 23rd October 2023: Your walk with God secures your future!

Scripture Reading: Act 7:5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him when as yet he had no child.

Reflections: Stephen narrated Abraham’s life story in his speech. He described how God guided Abraham’s exodus from Mesopotamia to Haran and then to Caanan, where he established the groundwork for the eventual establishment of Israel as God’s chosen people. Stephen draws attention to a noteworthy aspect of Abraham’s time in Canaan. Even though he was childless at the time, God had promised him and his offspring that this land would be theirs forever. It is odd to promise material belongings to an elderly man who is childless, particularly when Abraham and his wife Sarah were past childbearing age. But the miraculous birth of Isaac and the subsequent development of Abraham’s lineage show us that God is the only one who can make things happen and who alone determines our destiny. When we walk with God, we can be sure that our future is secure, just as God safeguarded Abraham’s destiny.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord that my future is secured.
Confession: My future is secured.
