Scripture Reading: Joh 11:39
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Reflections: Jesus was expected by the family of Lazarus to have arrived earlier. Now Lazarus had been dead and buried for four days. As Jesus stood at his tomb and requested it be opened, Martha felt it was a fruitless exercise and thus expressed her faithlessness. Indeed right from when Jesus arrived, she did not fail to express the sentiments that it was just too late for any intervention for his brother, Lazarus. Mary, her sister and the mourning crowd also portrayed the same feelings. Unmoved by their faithlessness, Jesus proceeded to demonstrate his all-surpassing glory. At his command, Lazarus rose from the dead. Like the family of Lazarus, sometimes you may be faithless, but God can choose to still show you his faithfulness. The fact is there is nothing He cannot do. As a result, He can bypass your faithlessness to prove Himself! His glory and power are all-surpassing!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that you can even bypass my faithlessness to prove yourself! Indeed, you are God all by yourself!
Confession: There is nothing God cannot do. He can even bypass my faithlessness to prove Himself!
