Scripture Reading: Daniel 5:22 (KJV) “And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this.”
Reflections: God punished King Nebuchadnezzar for his pride and expected his son, Belshazzar, to learn from this. However, Belshazzar ignored the lesson, leading to his downfall as divine judgment was pronounced. That very night, Belshazzar died, and his kingdom was divided. Belshazzar’s failure is a stark reminder of the consequences of pride and ignoring history. Like him, we have examples all around us—mistakes from which we can learn. God has recorded these lessons in Scripture and life, urging us to pay attention. In 1 Corinthians 10:11, Paul emphasizes that these past events serve as warnings for our benefit. Learning from the experiences of others equips us to make better choices and avoid needless failures. True wisdom is not just learning from personal experience but heeding the lessons from others.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to walk in humility and learn from the mistakes of others.
Confession: I choose to walk in humility, learning from the experiences of others.
