Scripture Reading:1Th 4:3-4
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour
Reflections: Paul admonishes the Thessalonians to remain sanctified. To be sanctified means “to set yourself apart for holiness’. This implies you have a strong dislike for sin and you actually forsake it and live a life of consecration. By so doing you are controlling your body for the sole purpose of it becoming worthy to be used by the Lord. Remember that whatever you do not keep under control will get out of control. Once you are out of control, you can no longer be available for the Lord. This is the state of many Christians. It is so sad. They are just not sanctified. Like the Thessalonians, you must also know that ‘this is the will of God, even your sanctification’. It is time to bring your body under control!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I choose to hate sin and forsake it. Help me stay sanctified
Confession: I bring my body under control. It will remain holy and honorable for the Lord’s use.
