Scripture Reading: Job 42:10
And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before
Reflections: Job had no idea that God had allowed his predicament as an opportunity to demonstrate his love for God to the devil. He suffered a series of losses that increased his level of suffering and threatened his existence. These losses included the collapse of his business empire, the death of all his children, and the deterioration of his health. However, one day, the Lord turned Job’s situation around, restoring twice as much as he had before. This was when he passed the test of his faith. The story of Job teaches us that although we may suffer for our faith, it is not permanent; it has an expiration date. Therefore, like Job, we should hold on and look forward to the turning point of our hardships.
Prayer: Dear Lord, enable me to hold on until you turn around any hardship I go through.
Confession: I endure hardships that come my way to test my faith in the Lord.
