Scripture Reading: Exo 6:9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
Reflection: Moses arrived in Egypt in high spirit. As he began to tell the people of Israel his mission, he knew they will welcome the news and corporate with him. He declared to them how God had heard their prayers for deliverance and had consequently sent him to them as their deliverer. Things however turned contrary to his expectations. Instead of being revived in their spirits and rising up to embrace the message of hope, the people rather exhibited an outright rejection of Moses and his mission. Their action was due to the anguish state of their spirits as a result of the very cruel bondage they had endured. Simply put, they had become despondent in life. This had the capacity to delay their deliverance if Moses had not urge them on to believe his message. Watch out! Despondency can be the reason why your breakthroughs can be delayed. Despondency is the state of low spirits caused by loss of hope or courage. Fight it. There is hope in your end -Jeremiah 31:17. Don’t easily breakdown to the point of becoming despondent in life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to keep a strong spirit all the time.
Confession: I will keep up with a strong spirit all the time. I will never loose hope in life. I will not bow to the spirit of despondency. There is always hope in my end!
