Scripture Reading: Deut 31:7
And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage: for thou must go with these people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it
Reflections: In presenting him to the people of Israel as their next leader, Moses points Joshua to a critical success factor- courage. Interestingly this implies that being anointed does not necessarily guarantee success. Therefore, anointing must be operated within the context of courage to produce results. Courage involves the ability to overcome fear and the willingness to confront something hazardous, complex, or unpleasant. Mental power enables you to take risks with the needed degree of optimism. You may be anointed, but while you pursue your life goals, don’t forget to give courage its rightful place, as Joshua was admonished to do.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be courageous.
Confession: I am courageous
