Scripture Reading:Mat 16:23
But He turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Reflections: Jesus began to inform his disciples about His impending crucifixion and resurrection. He meant to get them to understand the will of God for His life. However, they appeared not to be amused at all at the mention of death. Peter therefore told Jesus, this plan would have to be abandoned. Jesus immediately reprimanded him with the words ‘get thee behind me, Satan’. His response indicated He was not dealing with Peter but rather with the devil who had instigated him. ‘Get thee behind me Satan’ signifies that Jesus had discerned that Peter’s admonishment was coming from the devil. By this he was able to overcome it. It is critical for you to have the ability to discern the tactics of your enemies. It is the only way by which you can overcome them. Ask God for the ability to discern what is evil around you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to discern and know the tactics of the enemies.
Confession: I have the divine ability to discern the tactics of the enemy. I will never be taken by surprise. Neither will I be ever be moved into deception.
