Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:8
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

Reflections: After searching for a while, the wise men finally found the baby, Jesus, in a manger in Bethlehem. They gave him gifts and were ready to return to Herod with information about the baby’s location, as he had requested. Herod had told them he wanted to worship the child urgently. However, God warned them in a dream not to listen to Herod but to return to their country through a different route. The wise men had no idea that Herod was trying to find and kill the child. Therefore, Herod’s dealings with the wise men were a dishonest scheme that God revealed to the wise men. Such schemes are scams involving deceit to obtain something from another person. Scams can result in losses, including money, properties and life. It’s essential to be vigilant against scammers. They are on social media and can also reach out to you on your phones, via email, or meet you personally.

Prayer: Oh Lord, deliver me from scammers.
