Monday, 16th September 2019:Refuse to be intimidated!

Scripture Reading: 1Sa 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

Reflections: The looks and voice of Goliath intimidated the rank and file of the army of Israel for days. On the 40th day however, David a young boy arrived at the camp to deliver food to his brothers who were part of the army. His arrival coincided with one of the rantings and rattling of Goliath. As they quaked with fear and sought to run away, David appeared not to be perturbed. Calmly but with such audacious confidence, he rather asked if there was any reward for the one who could call off the bluff of Goliath whom he described as an uncircumcised Philistine. He simply refused to be intimidated and this became the launching pad for his subsequent heroic battle ‘duet’ with Goliath which knocked him down dead. Until you refuse to be intimidated in life, you can hardly ever become a winner. Intimidation is an intentional behavior to induce fear into a person. The aim is to persuade that person to do something he or she does not wish to do. Once you refuse to be intimidated, you will do as you want and not as the intimidator wants. Like David, this will become your first step to victory. Refuse to be intimidated!

Prayer: Oh Lord, give me the heart that defies intimidation in life.
Confession: I refuse to be intimidated in life.
