Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 14:2&6
And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people. And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.
Reflections: All was set for the wife of King Jeroboam to mislead Prophet Ahijah. She was going to take advantage of his blind eyes to hide her real identity. But she was in for a real shock! Before she could say a word, the prophet greeted and called her by name. What? How can a blind man do this? Unknowing to her, Ahijah had relied on his ‘spiritual eyesight’ rather than his physical eye sight. God had spoken to him earlier about the plot. The voice of God is your ‘spiritual eyesight’!. With it you can avoid being deceived in life. Let it lead you whether you are a pastor or layman and you will never be taken unawares in life. Like Prophet Ahijah, you can certainly avoid being deceived.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that you will reveal hidden things to me so that I will not be deceived in life.
Confession: The voice of God is my eyesight. I will not be deceived in life.
