Scripture Reading: Act 18:10
For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you or harm you because I have many people in this city.
Reflections: The ministry of Paul was heavily dissented by the Jews, so he had to leave for another city. In that new city, God appeared to him in a vision and assured him of the availability of people who would protect and assist him, so he should not worry. Indeed with the support garnered from them, Paul was able to stay on for over one year, getting many saved and strengthened in the faith. We note from this story that the kingdom progresses and advances because of the commitment of people who make themselves available to support its work. Therefore being just a mere Christian with no unfailing commitment to church work does not help in any way to advance the interest of the kingdom. Can God count on your readiness and availability to advance the kingdom as He did concerning the people in the new city that Paul visited?
Prayer: Oh Lord, enable me to become available, ready and willing to support kingdom advancement.
Confession: God can count on me.
