Scripture Reading: Mark 7:27, 29-30
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
Reflections: The Syrophenician woman had been worried over the condition of her daughter. The problem facing the poor girl was demonically influenced. She wondered how the appointment of these demons could be revoked until she meets Jesus. She was convinced that the solution to her daughter’s problem was in the hands of Jesus. As she interacted with Jesus, she refused to let go of her conviction that Jesus could free the daughter. Nothing Jesus said could turn her away or make her change her mind. She remained unwavering in her convictions. This stunned Jesus and brought about the needed turning point in her daughter’s life! Utterly amazed at her level of conviction, she pronounced her daughter free. When you refuse to let go of your conviction that Jesus is the healer/deliverer, your healing/deliverance will surely take place. Undoubtedly, your convictions will surely bring you to a turning point in life!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me walk with the deepest conviction that there is nothing you cannot do.
Confession: I will not waiver in my convictions that Jesus is the solution to any challenge I may encounter.
