And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

Reflections: A publican was a collector of public revenue in Israel. They were viewed as corrupt and therefore despised in society. They were also considered pagan allies. Nobody wanted to be associated with them. It must have been, consequently, a massive surprise for Levi to be invited by Jesus to join his team of disciples. This was a significant shift in his destiny. Appreciating this rare gesture, he organised a party to honour Jesus. A substantial number of publicans attended the event. This reciprocal gesture of Levi created a destiny-changing moment for these other publicans. They were also going to encounter salvation and healing through the ministry of Jesus. Like Levi, a great way of expressing gratitude to God for the salvation of your soul is to create soul destiny-changing opportunities for others as well! Do something to get others introduced to the faith!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to create destiny-changing opportunities for those who don’t know you.
