Scripture Reading: Matthew 26:10
When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
Reflections: The disciples of Jesus were all seated around the table with him. A woman who had joined them took out an alabaster box of precious oil and poured out all its content on the head of Jesus. Out of anger the disciples lambasted her. They felt it was needless and wasteful for her to have done that. They believed it could have been sold and the money put to a very good use in the ministry of Jesus. Jesus intervened in the matter and explained that the woman was actually right with her line of action and that prophetically she had prepared his body for burial. The disciples then realized they had been too quick to condemn the woman. Sometimes you may think you are right with your judgment over the actions of others but may end up realizing how wrong you have been. This may speak of arrogance and can be very shameful. Unlike the disciples, don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions. Learn not to judge by mere sight. Let the Holy Spirit lead you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me not to judge by mere sight. Let your Spirit lead me.
Confession: I don’t make judgments by mere sight. I allow the Spirit to lead me.
