Scripture Reading: 2Sam 5:23
And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees
Reflections: When the Philistines heard that David had been made king, they came against him. God came to his aid and gave him a winning strategy. The Philistine army lost and ran away, leaving their idols behind. After some time, they returned to fight David again. Rather than David relying on the first strategy, he went back to God for instructions. The plan he was given this time was completely different. He was to attack from the back and not upfront. He won the battle again. Don’t ever assume that what has worked before can equally work and be effective another time around. Like David, be ever ready for new ways to handle reoccurring issues.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me be ever ready for new ways to handle a reoccurring issue.
Confession: I am ready for new ways to handle reoccurring issues.
