Monday, 14th August 2017: Mind your anger!

Reading: Psalm 106:32
They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

Reflections: In life people can get you angry by what they do or say to you. This is a stark reality which we can never run away from. However when we allow these sentiments to provoke us to the extent of manifesting behaviors that contravenes the word of God then we get into trouble with God. Such was the case of Moses. The prophetic promise of going to Canaan made by God to him was short lived by his anger led behavior. How sad! Anger made him ‘spake unadvisedly with his lips’. It is apparent that many may not encounter their ‘promised land’ due to anger led behaviors. Anger led behavior is when you allow anger to provoke you to do anything outside the will of God. This can be elicited from Paul’s words, ‘Be ye angry, and sin not’ (Eph 4:26). A spirit that cannot be provoked by anger is what we need! It is time to mind your anger.

Prayer:  Lord give me grace to maintain a spirit that cannot be provoked by anger even though I may get angry.

Confession: I don’t allow anger to provoke me to do anything outside the will of God.
