Monday, 13th January 2025: Focus on choices that lead to true growth and lasting impact!

Scripture Reading: Matthew 9:16 (KJV)
“No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.”

Reflections: Jesus teaches us the importance of making wise and fitting decisions. He uses the example of sewing new cloth onto an old garment. While it may seem like a good idea at first, it actually worsens the problem. This reminds us that some things are incompatible—they don’t work together, and trying to force them can cause more harm than good. We often try to hold onto old ways while expecting new and better outcomes, or we focus on temporary fixes instead of addressing the root of a problem. Jesus is calling us to evaluate our actions carefully, to let go of what no longer serves God’s purpose, and to embrace new ways of living that align with His will. When we seek God’s wisdom, we can avoid frustration and wasted effort, focusing instead on choices that lead to true growth and lasting impact.

Prayer: Lord, Help me let go of things that hinder my growth and embrace what brings lasting value.

Confession:I align my actions with God’s wisdom and purpose for my life.
