Scripture Reading: 1 Sam 9:5-6
And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us. And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.
Reflections: Accompanied by servants of his household, Saul was determined to find his father’s lost asses. However after searching through 5 different towns without the slightest sign of success, discouragement began to set in. He eventually gave up. However, there was a quick intervention from one of his servants who urged him on. This brought him into the presence of the Prophet Samuel. Not only did Saul find the lost asses after interacting with Samuel, but also got transformed in destiny! What if his servant had not urged him on? Like Saul, you need associates/friends who will urge you on in the wake of challenges and not those who will aid you to give up! Ask God for such friends/associates.
Prayer: Lord, please surround my life with people who will urge me on in the wake of challenges and not those who will aid me to give up!
Confession: I walk with friends who are positive motivators in my life.
