Friday, 9th July 2021: Righteousness will preserve you!

Scripture Reading: Luke 17:27
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Reflections: The earth had never experienced such a level of torrential rainfall before. The waters covered the surface of the entire earth. Every plant was submerged and destroyed. Every house including its inhabitants were drowned and were no more. However, seconds before all these could take place, Noah and his family were ushered into the specially built ark which could withstand the ravages of the rain water. So even though everything and everybody was gone, Noah and his family remained untouched as a result of their walk in righteousness (Genesis 6:9). ‘To be righteous’ is a covenant rooted behavior and denotes one who remains on the path of the covenant terms. The standards of God’s word constitute the covenant terms God has established for His children. Like Noah, once you keep to God’s word, you will be automatically walking in righteousness and will remain insulated from divine judgements and destruction.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to walk in righteousness.

Confession. I am kept by the power of righteousness.
