Reflections: There was a contest to decide which deity (Baal or the God of Israel) is the true God. While Baal was represented by his 450 prophets, Elijah stood in for the God of Israel. Each group was instructed to petition their respective deity to send down fire to consume the sacrifice. The Baal team started. Throughout the entire day, they prayed while cutting themselves with knives and invoking Baal to conjure fire. There was no answer. They were humiliated and were forced to surrender. Elijah won by a landslide when, at his request, God promptly provided fire to devour the sacrifice. He proved Himself! God will prove Himself in your life by silencing your enemies and the source of their powers!
Prayer: Arise O Lord and silence my enemies and the source of their powers!
Confession: God will prove Himself. He will silence my enemies and the source of their powers!
