Friday, 8th June 2018:Your God-given gift should be a free source of blessing to many!

Scripture Reading:Act 28:9-10
So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

Reflections: After the shipwreck, all the 276 passengers managed to swim ashore safely. They found out that they were on the island of Melita. Even though no life was lost, all personal belongings were gone. Publius, an official of the island proved to be hospitable and gave them a place to lodge for the next three days. Paul who was one of the stranded passengers got a wind that the father of Publius was lying down sick. Even though he was a prisoner, he knew his God given gift to heal the sick was needed at this time. He therefore prayed for the man and healed him. This good news quickly spread around town. Soon all the sick people queued up and one by one Paul got them healed through the name of Jesus. He never charged them any money. When it was all over, the townsfolk spontaneously showered gifts on all the 276 passengers. Now each stranded passenger had something more to wear and to eat. All this was made possible because Paul had put his spiritual gift of healing to work. Don’t keep your spiritual gift to yourself. Neither should you merchandise it. Like Paul, let your God-given gift be a free source of blessing to many!

Prayer, Oh Lord help me put my gift to use so that many will be blessed.

Confession: I don’t merchandise my gift. Neither do I keep it to myself. I use it for God’s name to be glorified.
