Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 2:1
And Solomon determined to build a house in the name of the LORD and a house for his kingdom.

Reflections: Solomon had the task of building the temple when he ascended the throne of Israel. His father had left behind the architectural design and building materials for this assignment. Much as we may think that Solomon had all the necessary support to enable him to accomplish this task, there was something else that he brought on board- his determination to build! Without this, he could not have probably completed the job despite the provisions that were made available for him. Determination is a ‘ quality that makes you continue trying to do or achieve something that may be difficult ‘. It is a ‘positive emotional feeling’ that sparks off perseverance in you. It is part of why you can consistently achieve your goals in life.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to operate with the spirit of self-determination.

Confession: I possess the quality of self-determination.
