Scripture Reading: Joshua 2:4
And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
Reflections: The two spies sent by Joshua to survey Jericho found themselves in trouble. The King of Jericho had found out who they were and had sent his soldiers to arrest them. The spies quickly took refuge in the house of a woman by the name of Rahab. Anything could have happened but strangely, the woman hid them and ensured their safe and quick escape later on. She even daringly misled the soldiers with false information regarding their whereabouts. Even though she had every opportunity to betray the spies in the spirit of patriotism and national security. Rather, she allowed the will of God to prevail. Like the spies, as you execute your divine mission on earth, you may find yourself in a threatening situation but your ‘Rahab’ will ensure that you are not handed over to the will of your enemies (Psalm 31:8). The will of your enemies concerning your life will never come to pass!
Prayer: Oh Lord, May I never be handed over to the will of my enemies. Let my ‘Rahab’ be up to the task.
Confession: The will of my enemies concerning my life will never come to pass.
