Scripture Reading: Daniel 2:49
Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat at the king’s gate.
Reflections: Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, issued a decree for all his advisors to be killed. His decision was driven by the inability of the advisors to recount a dream he had had and interpret it as well. The information got to Daniel, one of the advisors. To avoid suffering the beckoning fate, he solicited the prayer support of three of his friends. They fasted for three days, seeking God’s intervention. God came through with the answer and gave it to Daniel, who stunned the king with the information. The King immediately promoted Daniel to a high royal position in the kingdom. Although Daniel was grateful, he knew he didn’t get the miracle worked out alone. His friends had been instrumental. He, therefore, requested the king to have his three friends promoted too, which the king obliged. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the three friends, were thus made Administrators over the province of Babylon. Like Daniel, don’t ever forget those who help you make it to the top.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for all my supportive friends. Bless them!
Confession: I don’t forget those who help me on the path of life.
