Friday, 5th March 2022: You come from God and not the devil!

Scripture Reading: Luke 3:38
Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

Reflections: Genealogy is the study of families and the tracing of their lineages and history. As Luke traces the genealogy of Jesus Christ, we stumble upon something interesting. He begins with Joseph, his earthly father, and continues with 20 lines, eventually bringing him to Adam, the first man created by God. From Adam, the next and final line of the ancestry of Jesus is traced by Luke to God. Thus he rightly ends the historical record with the words ‘the son of Adam, which was the son of God. This underscores that, as long as you are a human being, your genealogy is traced to Adam, which automatically links you to God. You, therefore, come from God and not the devil. You have all the motivation to serve the interest of God alone! Live for God alone!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that my lineage and history is traced to you and not to the devil.

Confession: My lineage and ancestry are traceable to God. I, therefore, serve His interest alone.
