The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Reflections: The Psalmist uses the word ‘simple’ to describe individuals who are gullible and easily swayed by others, cautioning against such tendencies. These people can be easily misled and fail to take the right action because they do not see the bigger picture. They are vulnerable to deception and can be robbed of their success. Sampson’s story is a clear example of this. When Delilah asked him to reveal the source of his supernatural strength, he failed to see through her intentions and, as a result, lost everything (Judges 16). It is essential to refrain from believing everything you hear and learn to analyze situations carefully to avoid trouble.
