Friday, 3rd July 2020: Keep obeying God!

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 9:6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.

Reflections: The people of Israel were excited they were being led by God to possess great cities flowing with ‘milk and honey’. Moses was quick to draw their attention to why they were about to enjoy such a blessing. It had nothing to do with their righteousness since they were noted to be stubborn. It rather had to do with God’s promise to Abraham, their forefather who lived in complete obedience to God. To obey means ‘ to conform to an order or submit to authority’. To reward him for his level of obedience, God pronounced blessings over him that transcended his lifetime. It was this blessings that Israel had come into contact with at the time of Moses. It is always important to conform to God’s will and submit to His authority. It helps in positioning you as a channel of divine blessings for others. keep obeying God!

Prayer: Oh Lord help me to be a conduit of blessings to others.

Confession: I refuse to be disobedient to God’s will for my life. By my obedience to God, I will be blessed. This blessing will affect people around me and my posterity!
