Scripture Reading: Matthew 14:35
“And when the men of that place had knowledge of Him, they sent out into all that country round about and brought unto Him all that were diseased.”
Reflections: Faith, as defined in Hebrews 11:1, is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The men of Gennesaret acted on what they knew about Jesus’ healing power, bringing the sick to Him with absolute faith in His ability to heal.
Absolute faith is first rooted in knowing God—His power, faithfulness, and compassion. This knowledge then must inspire one’s confidence to trust Him fully and take bold steps, knowing He is faithful to deliver on His Word. Like the men in Gennesaret, let your knowledge of God move you to act with confidence, trusting Him for the miraculous.
Prayer: Lord, help me to act on my knowledge of who you are and what your word says.
Confession: I trust God’s promises and act boldly, knowing He is faithful. Amen.
