Scripture Reading: Gen 28: 12 &16
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place, and I knew it not.
Reflections: Jacob had to leave home when the relationship between him and his brother Esau went sour. He knew he was all alone as he journeyed. Since dusk was setting in by the time he got to Luz, he decided to make a stopover to sleep. The bare ground became his mattress, and a stone his pillow. As morning approached, he was jolted from his sleep with a dream where he had an encounter with angels. This changed his perception and life completely. He realized that he was not alone on his journey as he had thought and that God was with him. This boosted his confidence to continue with the journey and consequently to face headlong the challenges of life. Like Jacob, you are never alone although you may feel lonely. God and his angels are with you in your journey of life (Heb 1:14).
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that I am never alone in life.
Confession: I am not alone in this life. God is with me 24/7 and his angels’ minister to my needs.
