Scripture Reading: Matthew 27: 65-66
Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Reflection: Soon after the burial of Jesus, the Chief Priest and Pharisees, conspirators and instigators of his death surfaced on the scene again. They will not even leave his dead body alone. They requested his tomb to be further sealed and a sentry provided to guard the place. They believed that this will prevent anybody from stealing his body and to later claim that he had risen from the dead. They remembered the promise Jesus made before he died that he will rise again and wanted to do everything possible to prevent this testimony from taking place. Interestingly they never had the slightest idea that the testimony of Jesus was imminent and unstoppable. Just as the tactics of the Chief Priest and Pharisees was not going to prevent the resurrection of Jesus from taking place so will your enemies fail in their enterprises against your life. You testimony is powerfully advancing and approaching by the will of God. As you ponder over Easter, just remember that no testimony ordained by God for your life can be prevented from taking place.
Prayer: Oh Lord, disappoint the conspirators of evil against my life and testimony. Let my testimony speak to your glory.
Confession: No testimony ordained by God for my life can be prevented from taking place.
