Scripture Reading: John 4:17
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly
Reflections: Jesus had an interaction with a woman, which eventually led to her salvation. A key aspect of the conversation was how Jesus revealed that the woman had encountered five unsuccessful marriages and was currently in a relationship with a man who was not her husband. Although this word of knowledge was meant to get the woman to believe that Jesus was the Messiah, it nonetheless establishes that our lives can be manipulated by the presence of an evil pattern which can rob us of our joy in life. An evil pattern is the repetition of unfavourable and undesired traits in a family such as divorces, diseases, disappointments, etc. Anytime you see such patterns running through your family or personal life, remember to break them with the help of God. Don’t allow evil patterns to characterise your life!
Prayer: Oh Lord, deliver me from any family evil pattern in my life.
Confession: Through the blood of Jesus, I free myself from evil family patterns.
