Scripture Reading: Isaiah: 51:7-8
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
Reflections: One of the reasons we fail to identify ourselves with righteousness is as a result of the insults and the hateful words we may endure from people. To overcome these threats, the prophet Isaiah draws our attention to the destructive end reserved for such scorners. They will be destroyed like the way moths devour clothes and like the worm eats up wool. This implies that while your righteousness will last and secure you an eternal rest, it will not go well with those who scorn you as a child of God. Per this, you are to defy scornful attitudes and keep showing up as a righteous person. Keep trending as a righteous person!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the grace to ignore scornful attitudes as I live righteously.
Confession: Scornful attitudes cannot stop me from living righteously.
